
Guo Zi Jian : located in Guo Zi Jian Street of Dong Cheng District, the highest institution during Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty. Built in Yuan Dynasty. (1306) There are 190 pieces of Thirteen Sutra stele inside, Jiang Heng spent 12 years to write altogether 630,000 characters, and this Thirteen Sutra stele was finished carving during Emperor Qian Long’s period(1735-1795), so it is also called "Qian Long stele sutra". In the past, about 200 students studying here were called "Jian Sheng", they mainly came from: first: selected students from everywhere in China for further learning; second: foreign students mainly from ancient Korea, Thailand, Laos and Russia; third: affluent students gave enough money for learning license here. |
